SECURITY RESTRICTIONS FOR TRAVELING WITH LIQUIDS AND GELS
Please be aware that many countries around the world have adopted measures limiting quantities of liquids, gels and aerosols (LAGs) permissible in carry-on baggage which could affect your duty free purchases of products that include hand lotions, cleansers, moisturizers, suntan lotions, liquor, perfume, cologne, shaving cream, etc. Be sure to check the rules for the countries you are travelling to/from.
(1) If you are connecting through an airport or country which has implemented the restrictions and has an In-Transit facility so you won’t have access to your checked luggage for stowing your duty free LAGs before you reach your final destination, you may not be allowed to carry them through security screening before boarding your next flight.
(2) If you do keep your purchases with you on your next flight, they must be in containers of 100 ml/100 g (3.4 oz.) or less, and they must all be placed together with the LAGs that you brought onto the flight in one clear, re-sealable plastic bag no larger than 1 litre (1 quart). There is a limit of one such bag per passenger.
On certain routes the governments have allowed the use of Secure Tamper Evident Bags (STEBs) to ease the purchase and handling of duty free LAGs. If you would like to purchase LAGs* on this flight, and are connecting upon arrival, you may be eligible to have your LAGs placed in a STEB by your flight attendant to facilitate security screening at the arrival station.
STEBs are available on the following routes only:
1. Canada to Australia, China (except Beijing), Europe (except Turkey), Korea, Japan (Haneda and Narita) and the United States.
2. All inbound Canada flights with a domestic or transborder connection
